SI Edu

A helper for New Zealand teachers, on your own Mac

SI Edu prepares lesson slides, practice worksheets and short assessments that follow the New Zealand Curriculum. It can also read your school email, calendar and Drive, so the week's work is in one place.

What it does

Lessons. Slides for a lesson you describe, in a theme you choose, ready to present or open in PowerPoint.
Worksheets and checks. Printable practice sheets and exit checks with a marking guide.
Mail. Your Gmail, sorted by who wrote: principal, colleagues, parents, newsletters. SI Edu reads it; it does not send email.
Your week. The next seven days of your Google Calendar on SI Edu's Today page.
From Google Drive. Pick one of your Google Slides or PowerPoint files and SI Edu keeps a copy as a lesson you can edit and present.

Your data stays on your Mac

SI Edu runs on your own computer. When you connect Google, your email, files and calendar are read straight from Google to your Mac. They are not copied to our servers and are not used to train AI. Read the details in our privacy policy.

SI Edu's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Connecting Google

In SI Edu, open Mail and click Connect Google. Tick what SI Edu may read (Gmail, Drive, Calendar), sign in to Google and click Allow. You can disconnect at any time from the same page, or from your Google Account's security settings.
